The EZRouting system allows for differentiating by different types of transport programs.
To create a new transportation program type, first, go to your personal icon in the top right of the screen. Then select Settings. Now change from general settings to transport programs. From here, you can click the plus sign to create a new transport program. Give it a name and a code if desired, then click save. You’ll notice that there is a checkbox called use program specific assignments. Having this box checked will allow students classified for a specific transportation program to only be assigned to trips that are also marked with this transport program. This box can be unchecked at any time to disable the transport program function.
Both students and trips can be given a transport program. To change the transport program of a student, go to the students tab. Then click on the pencil icon for the student you’d like to edit. In the general student information, there is a dropdown menu labelled transport program. The transport program can be changed here. Don’t forget to click save when you are done!
To update the transport program of a trip, go to the routes tab. Enter the desired route by hovering over the three dots and clicking the pencil icon. Then, click on the trip you’d like to edit. Click the tree dots that appear under that trip to enter trip properties. From here, you will see under general a dropdown menu labelled transport program. This is where you can change the trip’s transport program. Remember to click save when you are done!
After you setting up the transport program, the system will repsect the settings when route students. Students will only be assigned to the trip under the same transport program.
