“Showing Students” is a new routing feature to the EZ Routing platform. With the show students’ function, you can now display students in a variety of different ways right from the routes tab.
Students can be displayed by the school, grade, or custom filter. They can be color-coded on the map by their routing status or by school. If desired, students can also be searched out by name and displayed on the map that way. Just type in the student ID or student name to search them out.
By default, students of all routing status will be shown, but you can filter to display specifically routed, partially routed, or unrouted students. Note that unrouted students are displayed in red, partially routed students are displayed in purple, and fully routed students are displayed in green.
Once you have selected the students you would like to display on the map, you can begin to route them.
Keep in mind that this symbol next to a student's name shows that the student is inactive or a non-rider and is ineligible for being routed on transportation.
Now, Start by filtering for the trips you would like to have available.
We recommend filtering by schools to ensure students will be assigned to trips containing their attending schools. You can use the eye icon to display the trips you are considering using to route your students. You can also show all filtered routes from the operation menu. You have the option to click on individual students to assign them to trips or use the circle students button to assign a group of students to the same stop and trip.
After you select students, click the ASSIGN BUTTON, you will be prompted to select a trip for the student or students to be assigned to. You can hover your mouse on the trip paths to preview the info and click the path to select it. Then, you will have the option to assign the student or students to a stop already on the trip, a stop in your database that is not on the trip yet. or to click anywhere on the map to create a new stop. You can also choose any other trips you'd also like to assign these students to. Once you are happy with the settings you have selected, be sure to click save. This function allows you to assign students one after another without switching tabs.
