The auto assign function is made to easily assign a large group of unrouted riders to a suitable bus schedule. The function checks the student’s transportation requests and attempts to find a bus that fulfills those requests.
If the student has no transportation request, the system simply tries to find a bus that goes from a stop within the maximum walking distance of the student’s home address and the student’s assigned school. You will be automatically given a list of currently unrouted students to work with.
These students can be individually deselected by clicking the checkmark next to their name. The auto assign also will prompt you to choose if you want to allow students to take a different bus in the morning and afternoon. If you’d like to allow a transfer stop to occur. Once you’ve made your choices, you can click ‘search assignments’.

You will be able to see how many students a bus assignment was generated for, and some details of their assignment. If you are happy with the assignments, you can click ‘save assignments’. You also have the option to individually select/deselect assignments as you please before clicking the ‘save assignments’ button.
