Walkzone boundaries in Travel Tracker Routing are crucial in routing students. The walkzone boundary is the area around a school site that determines whether a student is designated as a walker. A student within the walkzone is typically a walker, except in special circumstances. This document walks you through setting the walkzone boundary at the site level in Travel Tracker Routing.

Instructions:

To access your overall site settings, go to the top righthand corner of your site and click on the half-person icon:

Select “Settings” from the dropdown menu

Select your preferred walkzone boundary type.

None: Do not use a default walkzone boundary.

Circular: The walkzone boundary generates as a perfect circle based on the number of miles indicated in the Walkzone Distance setting. The miles set indicate the radius of the circular walkout.

Walkout: The walkzone boundary generates determined by the nearest practical route on a public road. The miles indicated in the walkzone distance setting determine how far the walkout is for a student.

After you select the appropriate settings for your district, be sure to click save so you don’t lose your changes!
